Master's degree in Filosofia 3/18 - Filosofía para Niños (Philosophy for Children)

The Master’s degree in Philosophy for Children (Filosofia 3/18) will be taught online by the University of Girona. Classes will use interactive technology, designed in a way by which teachers will act as tutors guiding research projects, providing theoretical information as well as data concerning the presence of Philosophy for Children in the world’s school systems, and reviewing the practical exercises presented by the students.
The Master’s program ensures the possibility of participation and debate through forums that will be properly advertised.
The Master’s aims to offer teachers and educational professionals the possibility to deepen their knowledge of Philosophy for Children in order to foster its presence in the classroom and to provide a theoretical and practical background for those who would like to become teacher trainers.
The Master’s has a structure of 6 modules and a duration of two academic years:
- Module 1: Philosophy and education.
- Module 2: Learning to think.
- Module 3: Philosophy 3/18 curriculum.
- Module 4: Practicum.
- Module 5: Theoretical basis, presented with four alternatives: elementary, primary, secondary and high school. Students should register in one of those sections.
- Module 6: Final Research Project, developed and presented with the supervision of the assigned tutor.

Specific requirements for admission: Students must have access to a classroom in an elementary, primary or secondary school in order to do the Practicum.

operating system Windows 98 or Mac OS (with Microsoft Office package).
- Peripherals: CD-ROM
